What Colour Should I Decorate My Babys' Room?

I was 7 months pregnant with Rosie when we bought our house and was so exhausted that we left her nursery room plain and added touches of colour to it. Now that she is 6 she has decided she would like it purple...then red....then blue...then pink. So now it is January I have promised her that we will decorate it and she will have to choose which colour!

Mia being 13, has chosen a very lovely shade of grey and rose gold with white furniture and am so pleased with it....even the wallpapering I did has my Dad's thumbs up (& he is a perfectionist when it comes to the decorating.)

There are so many beautiful colours around to choose for your baby's nursery and which probably makes it harder. And going for the standard pink, blue or yellow thankfully is a thing of the past.

Keeping the walls and flooring a neutral colour allows you to use the soft furnishings as pops of colour and its easy to change too once you change your mind and especially if you have kept the gender of your baby as a surprise.

Pinterest is a good place to start. Get the app, make a new board 'Baby's Room Ideas' and save your favourite pins to it. You will probably see the same type of colours come up that you prefer and go from there.

Instagram has hundreds of hashtags to follow for baby room ideas too. I often get caught up in Instagram.....aggghhhh meant to be eyes are swayed by pretty things!

Here are some links to more beautiful inspiration:

Now get on your maternity dungarees and get planning & painting.....but remember that it is recommended by the NHS that your baby sleeps with you in your room in a separate cot for 6 months so there is really no rush to finish the nursery by the time your due date comes around.

Lots of love
